June Favourites - Vichy, Jurlique, L'Occitane, Soap & Glory, E.L.F & more

The month is nearly over & it's time for me to show you my favourite products of this month!

Vichy Normaderm Tri-Activ Cleanser
Full size price - £11.00 / 125ml
Product link - http://www.boots.com

This is a great multi-tasking product that I received in a Glossybox quite a while ago. I use it once or twice a week and there's still a load of product left and I won't be running out anytime soon. It's 3 in 1 because you can use it as a facial scrub every so often (it's quite abrasive so definitely not for everyday use) and included with the scrub it's also a cleanser. Now I haven't used it to take of my make up as I'd use a normal cleanser so I can't comment on how well it takes off but it's a plus I suppose. Lastly you can apply it to a dry face and leave it for 5 minutes for it to become a mask. I mostly use this as a face scrub but occasionally I will use it as a mask and it does feel good. It's not the easiest to wash off because of the clay in it but once you do you will notice a difference in your skin - super clean, no dry patches and smooth.

It's slightly minty green in colour and it has fairly large beads which do a great job of scrubbing. Sometimes I find it a little too abrasive which is why I only use it roughly once a week.

L'occitane 100% Shea Butter
Price - £7.00 / 8ml - £26.00 / 150ml
Product link - http://uk.loccitane.com

This multi-purpose balm is great for anything and everything. Literally, you can use this for so many different areas and it really works. I use it mostly on my lips which make them super smooth and feels lovely, but also I've been getting dry knuckles recently and it's helped a lot with that too. There's so many other ways to use it (check out my full review here) but it is expensive so I tend to just use it for my dry lips and cuticles - which are so much better now because of it.

I've had it quite a few months and although I've used a lot, bear in mind I use this religiously! It also has the loveliest subtle scent to it and feels so creamy.

Collection Fast Stroke Eyeliner
Price - £2.99
Product link - http://www.superdrug.com

Now I don't use eyeliner on a daily basis - I usually just go for simple mascara but when I want to have a more dramatic eye I go straight to this every time. Another item from a fairly recent Glossybox - at first I thought it wouldn't be that great but trust me once you've used this you will realise you don't need to pay top buck for a liquid eyeliner that doesn't wander off your eyelid! It stays on for so long with hardly a smudge in sight and this little baby really surprised me.

Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Mascara
Price - £22.00 / 8ml

Part of a free gift from an online purchase from Estee Lauder, I never realised what I was missing until I tried this out. Sadly I've nearly used all of it and I would be repurchasing straight away, but the fact I've got 8 + mascaras I need to actually use means I'd be silly to do that. However, this is a flexible mascara and what I mean by that is you can layer it up later in the day if needed, and / or add more coats depending how dramatic you want your lashes. After using this I actually started to lose interest in my Benefit - They're Real - yes really, as I felt They're Real left them too 'gappy' & was hard to manipulate once dried. Sucks to be me... I've bought a few extra backup as I thought I was in love with it - they won't go to waste though!

E.L.F Essential Lipstick in Seductive
Price - £1.50 / 3.5g
Product link - http://eyeslipsface.co.uk

I use this lipstick so much as it's a beautiful every day shade that goes with simple or dramatic eyes. It's not too pink - fairly similar to my natural lip colour so it's easy to wear anywhere. Now the reason it looks so messy and cheap is because 1. it is cheap and 2. it arrived damaged (bad E.L.F!). However I did get a refund although I just wanted a replacement. It is still useable; the whole lipstick came out of it's casing but I plopped it back in and I'm very weary whilst using it (I'd be like a child who's dropped their ice cream if it fell out). It's not drying, however not as moisturising as the other Essential lippies, but it lasts quite a while and I'm impressed as it's so cheap - well, free.

Soap & Glory Archery - Brow Tint & Prescision Shaping Pencil
Price - £10.00
Product link - http://www.boots.com

A must-have in my make up bag - this literally sorts your eyebrows out. If they are a bit bare and over plucked, or like me you have a big scar right through your brow where no hair grows, this pen / pencil will happily fill them in for you. It has a pencil on one end similar to other brow pencils (although admittedly not as sharp) and a fine felt tip-like pen on the other end. I use the pencil first to make the shape and fill in, then the pen to make the lines more crisp and to get the perfect thin 'end' of the brow. I will definitely be repurchasing soon as the pen is started to fade but it would be nicer if they had more of a range - I have 'Brownie Points' for brunettes and there is one for blonde's but an inbetweener would be great as sometimes it does make my brows a bit too dark even though I'm a brunette.

Jurlique Love Balm
Price - £10.00 / 15ml
Product link - http://www.jurlique.co.uk

I won this recently from a Stella Beauty competition and it's a great find - similar to the L'Occitane Shea Butter it's a multi-purpose balm which can be used anywhere. On the lips it feels very balmy and melts when you touch it. It isn't a lip balm that stays on for long because it absorbs into your skin and once it has done my lips are so smooth. It's really made my lips so lovely (maybe even more than L'Occitane's) and I'm so grateful I got to try it. The scent is unique too - tangerine!

E.L.F High Definition Powder
Price - £6.00 / 8g
Product link - http://eyeslipsface.co.uk

Lastly is this unique powder - it's translucent, very fine and makes your face so incredibly soft to touch. It keeps my make up in place for much longer and it's replaced any other face powder I used before as you really can see the difference. What I love about E.L.F is their range is so cheap but such amazing quality and I've fallen in love with quite a few of their products now. I have to say this does pick up on the little hairs on your face (especially near the lip and cheek area) but a spritz of E.L.F's Makeup Mist & Set actually sorts that out.

These are all firm favourites of mine and I've been using them daily / weekly all this month. They're products that I will keep repurchasing until I find something better (there's always something better out there!). Have any of you tried these items? Which do you like best?

Empties - June (Nspa, L'Oreal, No7 & Bioeffect)

June Empties

Nspa Jojoba and White Musk Shower Mousse

This is a shower foam which foams up real nice and smells gorgeous. It lasted so much longer than I thought it would, even though I tended to use a lot each time. It cleans the skin well and the lovely scent stays on your skin even after drying yourself. It includes Sandalwood, Jojoba & Rosehip oils for clean, super soft skin. The Nspa range is only available in Asda, and I'm looking forward to trying more of their products. Any Nspa recommendations?

Price - £3.95 / 150ml

Where I got it - Latest In Beauty were doing an offer for a free gift when you made a purchase & this was it!

L'Oreal Elvive Triple Resist Reinforcing Leave-In Treatment

This is a spray for weak hair that has a tendancy to fall out. I bought this in a rush and just assumed it was a leave-in treatment, but it's actually to strengthen hair that falls out. My hair doesn't fall out much more than the next person, although it is more noticeable as it's pretty long. Even so, I really enjoyed using this product; you apply it directly to the roots and does not make your hair greasy or sticky in the slightest. It has a great applicator which allows you to spray the roots easily and evenly. This product 'contains the highest concentration of Arginine in the Triple Resist range. Arginine is an essential amino acid and a vital constituent of the hair fibre. With massage to help stimulate the scalp, the reinforcing formula enriched in Arginine & Protein delivers a triple action'.

Price - £3.99

Where I bought it - Boots in store

No7 Age Defence Cleansing Balm

This is a creamy cleanser with a consistency a little thinner than would be expected for a normal cleanser, however this is a 'cleanser balm' so it feels and looks a little different. I found this did not remove make up well at all, so instead I took off my make up before using this product. Doing it this way gave much better results and it left my skin feeling soft and not dry at all. Other than how moisturised my skin felt afterwards, I don't have too much to say about this.

Price - unknown
Product link - Correct me if I'm mistaken but I think this may have been discontinued (not on Boot's site)
Where I got it - My mum gave me this 30ml sample

Bioeffect EGF Serum

My second teeny bottle of this didn't last long as I loved using it every night. It's a great serum and feels beautiful. The packaging is lovely (full size is the same but larger) which makes an easy application every time and allows you to not waste any of this expensive product by using more than you need. I'm sad that it's gone now and I probably won't be using it again as it's not really in my price range. Luckily Latest in Beauty allowed me to sample it for reasonable price and I'm glad to have tested it out.

Price - £125.00 / 15ml OR £8.00 for my sized sample (around 3-5ml?)

Latest in Beauty x Glamour - The Glamour Beauty Edit Box Review

I've become a little bit obsessed with Latest in Beauty at the moment - with their collection boxes, luxury samples and more, there's always something to find and I've given them plenty of my money this year! They are bang on with their boxes and this one I consider one of the best. They've teamed up with Glamour magazine (do I need to say any more?) to bring 9 gorgeous beauty products supposedly worth £65 - for just £14.95.

So what's in the box?

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Original Formula

I've tried this before many years ago and I can't really remember what it was like other than it could make your hair look greasy if you used too much. It is supposed to tame frizz and it also protects your hair from the sun. 'Award winning formula instantly eliminates dry, moderate frizz and repels humidity for glossy, silky-smooth styles. With thermal protectant'.
  • - Blocks frizz.
  • - Instantly and dramatically transforms dry, frizzy, or chemically-treated hair into incredibly smooth, glossy hair.
  • - An exceptional blend of silicones immediately smooths texture while delivering a layer of crystal-clear gloss for perfectly polished, frizz-resistant styles.
  • - Repels humidity to help prevent weather-related frizz.
  • - Contains a UV filter.
  • Application - Use in shower after shampoo & conditioner. Apply to soaking wet hair. Use sparingly, dispensing one pump of serum into palm. Rub hands together and distribute even throughout hair.
Price - £3.99 / 25ml - £6.29 / 50ml
My size - 25ml

Available in - 25ml and 50 ml

Ginera Green Tea Exfoliating Marvel Gel

This was one of the products I was most excited about being in the box but it kind of weirded me out once I used it. It is very gel-like and green in colour. You are told to rub it in for one minute & in this time it balls up and parts start clumping into rolled up bits which are supposed to be dead skin; I'm not sure if this is actually the case yet or not. Confusing - I have only tried it once today so I will need to give it more time. I thought it would be more exfoliating - but the particles are micro and I hardly felt any abrasion or 'scrubbiness' to my skin whilst using. Apparently it is great for removing blackheads although I didn't notice any difference after one wash. It's quite hard to get hold of so I'm glad I got the chance to try this out!

Ginerva Green Tea Marvel Gel works by specifically targeting the cornified skin layer, dissolving and removing the dead skin cells on the top most epidermis layer, revealing bright, smooth & youthful looking skin.

- Clear, fresh skin in 1 minute
- Deep cleansing of pores
- Skins looks and feels younger
- Perfect skin for your beauty cosmetics

Price - £22.00 / 60ml
My size - 10ml - about £3.67

Batiste Dry Shampoo - Original

This is one of those staple products that everyone should have. Although I have a mini one already from Latest in Beauty, plus a couple of larger sizes, they are very handy for travelling etc, and I haven't actually tried the OG one before. If your hair is ever greasy / flat / needs an uplift then this is the quickest and easiest way to liven up your hair instantly. Perfect for when your in a rush or can't be bothered!

Price - £1.50 / 50ml

Available in - 400ml, 200ml, 150ml & 50ml

Revlon Nail Enamel in 440 Siren

I'm so glad I got the orange coral shade of this rather the red which was advertised. I have so many reds and hardly use any of them, and even though my collection of oranges is building up, this one's a lovely shade and won't go a miss. It will be my next mani - so watch out for it on my nail blog costellonails.blogspot.co.uk - I will give you a link here when I have done so!

Price - £6.49 / 14.7ml
Product link - http://www.boots.com
My size - full size

JINNYlash Strip Eyelashes

I don't use fake eyelashes at all - I've tried them before but they felt uncomfortable and heavy - I thought they looked stupid on me anyway. I would be more inclined to try the individual ones as a more natural alternative, but it would have to be for something special & let's face it, I really don't have anything that great going on in my life. These, however, are more natural than most, but I think they'll be living in the drawer for quite a while. The packaging is lovely though and they come with a little tube of glue.

'These lashes are stylish and subtle enhancing a natural look with length and volume. They give a terrific look and are perfect for any occasion'.

Price - £6.00

Stila Lip Glaze in 28 Guava

Although I'm more into my lipsticks than glosses, this does look nice and it will definitely get used at some point. My shade is Guava which is a lovely pink hue and much more to my taste than the one they said they were giving! As I haven't tried it yet it's hard to say how this product is but I can always give a review at a later date (ask below in the comments if you want).

Price - £15.00 / 2.5ml
My size - 1.5ml - roughly £9.00
Product link - http://www.boots.com

The Vintage Cosmetic Company Tweezers

This is one of the products that really encouraged me to buy this box - I needed good tweezers so badly after I lost my lovely Tweezermans. I've got a variety of The Vintage Cosmetic Company's products and they are all lovely (especially their Stipple Brush!). These are pretty good - they do break some hairs rather than pull them out cleanly but maybe it's just my brows as I've noticed this a lot recently with various tweezers. They are pink and smooth & soft to touch.

Price - £8.00

Benefit - The POREfessional

I already have a sample of this from their Gina Goes Glam set (review here) so I have almost enough as the full size - okay, not quite but this will keep me from buying the full size as I was so close to do doing recently. I'm glad I held out because this product is a little different than expected. Sure, it leaves your skin feeling silky smooth but in all honesty I didn't notice any difference to my pores when that's what it's supposed to be all about. If anything, it's slightly blurs the appearance of pores. Maybe mine are too large to fix...? With all the hype around this product it really should do as it says. I can't tell if it holds my make up on any longer or not - but I like how you can apply this over make up as well.

Price - £24.50 / 22.0ml
My size - 7.5ml - worth around £8.00
Product link - http://www.boots.com

L'Oreal Super Liner Gel Intenza in Golden Black

This was another product that just sold it to me. I heard this was supposed to be really good and I was pleasantly surprised at the colour - a slightly shimmery black. I've only swatched it on my hand but it looked really unique and after washing my hands twice it is still faintly there even though I was trying to rub it off. It dried really quickly and doesn't rub off naturally. It also comes with a lovely little brush (that actually has a cap on it so it didn't arrive misshapen - E.L.F brushes I'm looking at you!). It seems amazing - can't wait to try it out properly!

- 24hr wear
- Waterproof
- Quick dry formula
- Ultra-comfort

Price - £9.99 / 2.8g + brush
Product link - http://www.feelunique.com - £8.49 here

It also came with these leaflets - one of the products inside and the other with a few discounts on the products. Perfect!

Overall

This box is great value for money - overall I worked out the total to be £55.14 - that is an estimate but they did say it was worth £65.00; so I'm not if they added a cheeky tenner or some of the RRP's are different to what I found. Either way its a bargain for £14.95 and they really are all great products. If Latest in Beauty carry on the way they are I am going to be skint by the end of the year! Have any of you guys bought this? If you're thinking about it i hope this post helps you decide. The link is here to buy it.

Thanks for reading!
